How 3 habits are helping me get ahead as a creative in 2024.

Hey creative friends 👋🏾

It's been a while, and wow, this year has zoomed by 🤯. Can we all agree it's been a bit of a rollercoaster?

I barely made it through, but here we are, just hours away from 2024, ready to wrap up the year strong.

Normally, December is my time to relax, sleep in, and do absolutely nothing. But let's be real, it hasn't done me any favors. So, I tried something different this time. 

Here's how I got back to the basics these holidays:

1. Becoming an early riser again ⏰

I used to dread mornings, especially after late design nights. But this time, I changed things up. Waking up between 3:30 am and 4:00 am gave me quiet, distraction-free time for my spirituality and passion projects. There's something magical about working while the rest of the world still sleeping.

2. Consistent Workouts 💪🏾

As a designer glued to the desk, a sedentary lifestyle was creeping in. So, I made a pact to work out first thing in the morning. Thirty minutes of lifting weights not only boosted my mood but also gave me a sense of accomplishment to tackle the day.

3. Healthy Eating 🥗

Revamping my diet was a game-changer. Choosing nutrient-dense foods like fruits, yogurt, and protein over processed stuff kept my energy levels steady. No more mid-afternoon crashes.

In a nutshell, these habits are a way for us creatives to prioritize ourselves as we head into the new year. Our creative gigs demand a lot, and it's easy to forget about self-care amidst tight deadlines and limited budgets.
